Lessons

At A Grade School of Motoring, we pride ourselves on not only getting you to the standard required for passing your test, but ensuring that you have the skills to be a confident and safe driver for life.

All students have free access to Theory Test Pro, an online tool accessible from computers, tablets and smartphones. This is an easy way to practice both the multiple-choice questions and hazard perception clips that make up the theory test. Even if you’re a full licence holder, it could be used to fill any gaps in your knowledge.

"L" Lessons

We understand that learning to drive and control a car can be intimidating at first - we were all learners once. Following the syllabus set out by DVSA, your trainer will guide you through the procedures which will allow you to drive correctly and above all safely, with regard to other road users and the law. With regular practice you’ll be able to navigate junctions, crossroads and roundabouts as well as effectively dealing with everyday traffic conditions and situations. Along with driving forwards, you’ll soon be able to reverse and park your vehicle maintaining good control, observation and accuracy.

If time is an issue, our short courses could be just what you’re looking for. Everyone learns at a different pace, and your trainer will recommend an appropriate course after an initial assessment session. By taking a short course, reaching the standard of driving required to pass your ‘L’ test can be done in weeks rather than months.

Pass Plus

Pass Plus is a scheme for newly qualified drivers to gain experience on aspects of driving they may not have encountered in preparation for the ‘L’ test. You’ll be assessed on 6 modules that cover driving in towns & cities, driving in all-weather conditions and driving at night. You’ll also drive on rural roads, dual carriageways and motorways. Spread over a few sessions, the course will last a minimum of 6 hours and be in-car wherever possible. With Pass Plus, there isn’t a test at the end. Once you’ve achieved the required standard in all 6 modules, you can apply for your Pass Plus certificate, which could be used to get a discount on car insurance.

Please note not all insurance companies offer discounts on completion of a Pass Plus course.

Refresher Lessons

Passing your ‘L’ test doesn’t necessarily mean the end of any driver training, and it’s often said that you learn to drive once you’ve passed your test. Refresher lessons are a great way to gain confidence behind the wheel if you haven’t driven on the road for a few years, or if you’re new to driving in the UK. Maybe you’re anxious about certain types of roads or situations which you encounter, or would like to improve on your techniques for reversing manoeuvres. If you think you could benefit from a refresher session we’re here to help.
